10.  Supports and Contributions in the development of Sports in Tigrai

*      TDA established circus Tigrai and still supporting it

*      Established Bicycle Team

*      Established Marshal arts club

 11.   Supports and Contributions to the development of Culture and Tigrigna Literature

·         Tigrai Development Association introduced a new concept. It was named as “Family Festival”. The festival was held in - conjunction with the Traditional and religious celebration “ASHENDA”. It was implemented for four (2002 – 2004) consecutive years in Mekelle. Further, it enabled Tigrigan families to join every year, preserve their cultural drinks, food, and way of dressing, dancing, hair styles, and other culturally valuable values.

·         It sponsored and support so many cultural symposiums, shows, etc

·         Currently, it is involving in encouraging Tigrigna Authors. TDA is purchasing Books written in Tigrigna aiming at Motivating Authors and supplying schools with additional reference materials. Collaterally, this helps students to equip with their cultural values and Literature.

 

12.  Soft Programs

TDA in collaboration with domestic and foreign donors carried out several soft projects. These projects were mainly on capacity building, income generating activities, reproductive health and Family planning, etc. Some of them include:
